Engagement and Consultation
Derbyshire County Council and the Elvaston Castle Development Board met with the Heritage Lottery Fund in August 2015 to get a clearer picture of why the Council’s bid for Heritage funding earlier in 2015 was not successful.
The key feedback was that:
- The HLF welcomed the bid, and were very positive about the community engagement over the last couple of years in developing a Vision for the Estate.
- A re-submission would be encouraged but before this happens, the Council needs to secure much more significant match funding, and ideally have regeneration partners in place.
The Council is now considering its options for the future in conversation with the Development Board, and more information will be provided in due course.
